Charles Lamar Murray

MURRAY - Charles Lamar Murray, 71, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016. A native and life-long resident of Jacksonville, he was born to the late Paul Murray and Ada Dorman Murray on October 9, 1944. Charles was a member of Regency Church of God and retired from the Jacksonville Times-Union after 42 years of service as Advertising Services Graphic Artist. He was an avid bowler and bowled on the Times-Union bowling team in past years. He loved Gospel music and enjoyed going to many Gospel Concerts. He attended classes at Jacksonville University. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Murray; a sister and his brother-in-law, Virginia and Edward Markham; and a brother-in-law, Rev. Donald Anderson. Charles is survived by his loving sisters, Josephine Anderson and Geraldine "Jerri" Folino and her husband, Saint Folino; one brother, Robert Paul Murray Sr. and his wife, Ivy Ruth Murray and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26th in the Regency Church of God, 1677 Southside Blvd. Jacksonville 32216 with Bishop John V. Morgan and Pastor J. Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, also at Regency Church.
