Charles Reed Pearson, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Jacksonville, on July 21, 1938, he spent most of his life right here where he was born and raised on the banks of the St. Johns River.
He is predeceased in death by his parents Charles Sanford Pearson and Corrine Beck Pearson and loving step-mother, Mayme Engel Pearson. He is also predeceased by his brother Gene Pearson, sisters Charlene Enger and Anita Quinn Lentz. He is survived by cousins George Pearson (Loretta) and Karen Beasley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Charles graduated from Landon High School, Class of 1952. After school, he served his country in both the U.S. Navy and AirForce. Following his military service he built a successful career in retail sales traveling throughout the Midwest and returning to Jacksonville in the early 1980’s.
Charles was a good friend to many, and a kind and caring uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He will be missed.
