

On the evening of June 30, 2025, Charles “Charlie” M. Rawles passed away with his daughter Beverly and granddaughter Mandy by his side to comfort him as he made his transition for this world to his heavenly home.
Charlie was born in Cumberland, Kentucky to Daniel and Joann (Creech) Rawles on October 10, 1931. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy SeaBees. After serving, he worked at Ferber Sheet Metal and was a member of the Jacksonville Local #435 Sheet Metal Union.
After retirement, you could usually find Charlie, gardening, wood working, playing FreeCell on the computer, fishing, hunting, canning vegetables from the garden, spending time with his family and at church on Sundays.
Charles is predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years Christine, parents Daniel and Joann, sisters Bobbie and Billie, and daughter Gayle.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter Beverly (Chuck); his brother Paul (Terry), granddaughter Mandy (Chase), Great-grandson Nathan, and many family members and friends.
He was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather (his favorite title) and friend that will be truly missed by all.
A funeral service for Charlie will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Restoration Baptist Church, 9714 Ridge Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32208, with a visitation an hour before at 10:00 AM. Following the funeral service, we will go in procession to Evergreen Cemetery, Funeral Home and Crematory, 4535 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32206 for his final resting place with his wife Christine.
