Chris was born in Jacksonville February 29, 1964. He attended Jacksonville Country Day and Bolles High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Stetson University where he was an active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Chris worked in the home building, mortgage and insurance fields before eventually serving, for the last several years, as caregiver to his beloved mother Molly.
Chris was an avid reader especially of history. For the last several years, he researched the Johnson family lineage and was able to document a direct descendant who fought in the American Revolutionary War. Earlier this year, Chris was honored to become a member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a devoted father, son, friend and longtime Parrot Head. Chris was an eternal optimist who loved to share an endless supply of useless information and always loved a party.
Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Mary “Molly” Johnson and leaves behind his father, Don Johnson (Diane), sons Matthew and Nicholas, sisters Julie Franken (Michael) and Jennifer Rankin (Todd), nieces and nephews, Mary, William, Trace and Elena.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at All Saints Episcopal Church in Jacksonville on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Sons of the American Revolution in Chris’s memory are welcome. To donate visit their website at www.sar.org .
