

Cleda Clifton Robinson, age 92, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016. She was born in Roland, Oklahoma to Jacob and Viola Holt. Cleda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, William Oliver Robinson; her brothers, Dayton Holt, Granville Holt, and Thurman Tabor; her sisters, Geneva Parrish, Joyce Seabolt, Theodora Sockey and Oleta Holt. Cleda is survived by her daughters, Pamela Jean Robinson, and Janet Robinson McCarthy; son-in-law, Carlton McCarthy, and her grandchildren, Joshua Capps (Elana), and Caleb Capps (Nicole).
Cleda grew up and attended high school in Roland, Oklahoma. In 1944 she enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. She attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she received both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Elementary Education. Most of her teaching career was spent in Webb City, Missouri. Cleda was a devoted and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed painting, reading, and gardening.
A gathering to celebrate her life will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens, Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
