

Craig was born on November 7, 1951, to the late Donald and Gladys Hansen Pike. Craig is a graduate of Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he was a member of the Kennedy Cougars football team. After graduation, Craig enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he spent time on an aircraft carried during the Vietnam War. Craig served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1974. He continued his education at Kirkwood Community College prior to returning to active duty from 1981 to 1993. Craig married Barbara Bonno in Potsdam, NY on April 12, 1980. After his initial Navy career, the couple settled in Jacksonville, FL where they raised two children.
Being raised in Iowa, Craig remained a lifelong Hawkeye fan often following the team to many locations in and out of Iowa. Craig spent time at Southside Estates athletic field coaching baseball for many years, including coaching his son, Jonathan, along with many other children. Craig was a former elder and active member of Peace Presbyterian Church. Craig was an avid sports fan and had a love of history and war movies, as well as a Fourth of July tradition of watching the movie 1776 with his wife and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Bonno Pike; daughter, Jodi (Rick) of St. Johns County, FL; son, Jonathan (Rebecca) of Jacksonville, FL; 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Vanessa, and Ariel; brother, Bob Pike and family from Reidsville, NC; and sister, Kris Ruprecht and family from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Craig was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Gladys Pike; infant son, Andrew Pike; and his beloved rescue dog, Raven.
The family would like to acknowledge the care provided by Dialysis Clinic Incorporated and CenterWell Health Care for all their care and support.
A Visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, located at 11801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida, 32223, on December 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue, beginning at 6:00 pm.
