JOHNSTON - David Andrew Johnston, Sr., 72, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016. Mr. Johnston was a native of West Virginia and moved to Jacksonville in 1981. David had worked for several golf courses in the area, including Pine Lakes and Deerfield Lakes golf clubs. Survivors include two daughters, Juanita (Joseph Whitehead) Long and Rhonda (Curtis) Head; four sons, Ronnie (Renee) Johnston, Darrell (Carol) Johnston, David Johnston, Jr. and Bryan Johnston; three sisters, Myrtle Panell, Gracie Wimmer and Mickie Beasley; two brothers, Elburn Johnston and Kenneth Johnston; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; other loving family and friends. There will be a visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Saturday, June 4, at the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to offset expenses.
