David Rhys Jones

David was born on the first of May in the year 1961 to David and Louise Jones in Miami, Florida. After graduating from North Miami Beach High School in 1979, David would go on to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Florida, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1987. David enlisted into the US Navy before graduating High School and was granted a commission on May 2, 1987. He would go on to serve with distinction until 1991. After working for a time at the Health Department, David would return to school, attaining a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Florida in 2011. David would begin a career working for the Department of the Navy’s Department of Defense working in the P-8A Poseidon program, an aircraft submarine hunter. David’s service in the U.S. Navy, be it in non-commissioned, commissioned, or civilian capacity, was a source of both joy and pride for him. In his free time, David enjoyed fishing, golf, and spending time with his family.

David is survived by his wife, Donna; his brother Stephen Wesolowski and wife Christie Smith; brother-in-law Lewis Toms and his wife Pamela; sisters-in-law Theresa Steele and her husband Leonard, and Tina Butler and her husband Shane; cousin Ann Walters; multiple nieces and nephews; his two children Kiplyn and Rhys; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Louise; and sister Debi Johnson.
