Babcock- Dawn Michelle Babcock, age 48. At 8:24 PM on Tuesday, November 15, another Angel departed this earth for her eternal home. Dawn left Community Hospice’s Hadlow Center and arrived in her heavenly place to be forever protected by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dawn enjoyed her life and made the most of each day. Born in Warren, Ohio on October 16, 1963, Dawn was a graduate of Poland Seminary Academy in Poland, Ohio. She attended Kent State University before transferring to the University of South Florida, from which she was graduated in 1986. She moved to Jacksonville from Fort Myers in 1990 and was employed by Gateway Community Services for six years. Dawn was happily involved in many projects at Southside United Methodist Church and at Hendricks Avenue Elementary, where she served as PTA Historian and yearbook publisher. The best job she had was as a mom to her three children, Kate, Lauren and Jay.
Dawn was predeceased in 2009 by her dad, Andrew M. Fecik. She is survived by her mother, Donna Hughes Fecik; husband Brian and children Katherine, Lauren and Jay. Dawn is also survived by her brother Andrew J. Fecik (Sharon), eight nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service to celebrate Dawn’s life and final journey will be held Saturday, November 19 at 10:16 AM at Southside United Methodist Church 3120 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida. The family will receive friends Friday, November 18 from 5-7 PM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd.
Memorial contributions in Dawn’s honor may be made in the name of Dawn Babcock, FBO Andrew M. Fecik Memorial Book Scholarship at any Wells Fargo Bank or to Community Hospice of NE Florida. In lieu of flowers, Dawn’s request is for everyone to take a few minutes of each day to read their Bible.
