Deborah Rushton Payne

Debbie was born October 18, 1951 in Montgomery, Alabama to Moses Beattie Rushton and Mary Pearl Hall. In 1967 she married the love of her life, James “Jimmy” Marion Payne. In 1972 they settled in Jacksonville, Florida. Debbie served many years at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and later became a faithful member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church. She was a committed follower of Christ. She was a homemaker, investing her entire life into loving and serving her husband and children.

She was a devoted wife to her beloved Jimmy. They enjoyed almost 52 years together. She was a loving and selfless mother to her two daughters, Denise Ingoldsby (John), Angela Brewer (Clayton), one son, Jay Payne (Ashley) and to her beloved grandchildren, Caroline, Grace, Olivia, Ben, Drew, Clayton Jr. , Catherine, Carson, Bailey, Maya, Abby and Mason. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren.

Debbie joins her husband, Jimmy, her father, Moses Beattie Rushton, her mother Mary Pearl Hall, and her two sisters Mary Lynn Anderson and Donna Francis Hendrick.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Debbie Payne to Fruit Cove Baptist Church, St. Johns, Florida.

The family would like to invite friends and family to a graveside service for Debbie on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Mandarin Cemetery, Mandarin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
