Dori Anne Portie, 45, of Jacksonville Florida went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 6th, 2013. She was a devout member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church for many years. Her heart was devoted the last 3 and half years to her granddaughter Julie Anne. She enjoyed baking, fishing, boating and her family time. She enjoyed watching her sons play baseball and spent countless hours volunteering for the MDA. Dori was a very social sweet soul who never met a stranger no matter where she was and enjoyed helping others whenever she could. She is survived by her spouse John of 11 years. She is also survived by daughter Kaitlin and sons Jacob and Hayden and her mother Mary Becker. Also surviving her are sisters Joanne, Jennifer, Julie, Wanda and brothers Bill, Jack and Edward, numerous nieces and nephews and will be missed by many friends in the Jacksonville area. Dori graduated from South Plantation High School and attended Nova University in Fort Lauderdale. Memorial services will be held at six o'clock in the evening on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at The Oaklawn Chapel. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Hardage- Giddens, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Boulevard is serving the family.
