Doris Marie Gibson Emmel, age 93, passed away April 6, 2018 at Brookdale Atrium in Jacksonville. Doris was born on November 22, 1924 to Nelson Geiger Gibson and Elizabeth Marie Blum Gibson in Philadelphia, PA. She is survived by her son, David Thomas Emmel (Dolly) of St. Augustine; daughter, Lisa Marie McKenna (Richard) of Jacksonville; grandchildren Aaron Thomas Emmel (Allison), Matthew Eugene Emmel, Lauren Ann Emmel Geneau (Joe), and two great granddaughters Nora and Sadie Emmel, all of St. Augustine. Doris was an amazing mother, who was always there for her family. At Doris’ request, a memorial service will not be performed. The family would like to thank everyone at Brookdale Atrium Way and Vitas Hospice for their utmost respect and love for our Mom. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Homes and Crematory.
