STOKES….Doris Wilson Stokes passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on May 16, 2010, in Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Stokes was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 30, 1929, to John and Lola Wilson. Her family moved to Jacksonville soon after her birth and she resided there for the rest of her life. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. After graduation, Doris went to work at the Federal Reserve Bank and married H. Atwood Stokes, Jr. She was a member of the Lakewood Presbyterian Church. She later retired as a bookkeeper from Coastal Power Co.. She was a devoted wife, mother, neighbor, and employee, and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two sons, Brian Atwood Stokes and Michael Charles Stokes, and a daughter, Alison Lynn Stokes, daughter-in-law Jeong Choong Ae, and grandson Tyler Philip Stokes. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held on July 24 at 11.a.m. at Corey- Kerlin Funeral Home at 940 Cesery Blvd.
