Dorothy Mavis Davidson

Dorothy Mavis Davidson, age 89, passed away October 17, 2017. Mavis was a longtime member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church, and she was a devoted Christian mother and wife. She led Bible studies and also sang in the North Jacksonville Baptist Church choir for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and worked with the Rainbow Girls. Mavis was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Mavis is preceded in death by her husband Howard Arnold Davidson; and her son Herbert Gary Davidson. She is survived by her children Howard, Jr., Dena, and Tina; grandchildren Davi, Stacey, Shannon, Gus, Garrett, Riley, and Sawyer; her sisters Honor Pierce and Wanda McCants; her brother Loyd Morris and sister-in-law Joan Morris; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends in the Andrews, South Carolina area.

Funeral services in Andrews, South Carolina will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Andrews, 10 North Rosemary, Andrews, South Carolina, 29510. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Paul Sapp will serve as officiant. Interment will follow the service at Andrews Cemetery in Andrews, South Carolina.
