Dorothy Ewton

Dorothy Ewton, age 92 went home August 8th, 2013 with her two sons by her side. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois she graduated from Carson Newman College with a Bachelor that included a double major in English and Music with a minor in French. In 1939 she met and eventually wed George T. Ewton in 1942. They moved to Jacksonville and both became members of First Baptist Church Jacksonville Florida. During her tenure at First Baptist she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and not only founded, but grew the church library as the head librarian. Due to her devotion to the Lord and his Church with such unbreakable faith, there is no doubt that Dorothy has joined the love of her life in heaven.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013 with visitation one hour prior to service in Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Avenue Chapel with Pastor John Ewton as Officiant, followed by interment in Oaklawn Cemetery 4807 San Jose Boulevard Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
