Dorothy Maureen McCahill

She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene McCahill, and her sons, Bruce and Steven McCahill. She leaves behind two sons: Mark of Jacksonville, Florida, and Brad (Waunelle) of Kennesaw, Georgia, and seven terrific grandchildren: Craig McCahill (Krystle) of Andover CT, Christopher (Autumn) McCahill, Justin (Cindy) McCahill, Adam McCahill, and Meaghan McCahill, all of Jacksonville Florida, Kelly (Ryan) Winter, of Decatur, Georgia, and James McCahill, of Woodstock, Georgia and her sister, Elaine Colli of Windsor, Connecticut, as well as her beloved friend, Christie Nystrom. She also leaves behind 5 great-grandsons, twins Logan and Dillion, Aidan, Milo and CJ, and two great granddaughters, Mackenzie and Payton, of Jacksonville, Florida.

Dorothy was a long-time resident of Windsor and East Grandby, Connecticut. She worked at Hartford Hospital for over 40 years as an OB-GYN Registered Nurse and a pioneering Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed many artistic pursuits, notably painting and crocheting.

A viewing at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, will be held Saturday, December 15, at 3:00 pm, followed by cremation and interment in Connecticut at the family's choice.
