Dorothy Iris Stewart

Mrs. Dorothy Iris (Stone) Stewart,83, passed into the presence of Jesus on May 18, 2022, at St. Vincent's Hospital Riverside after a short illness. Living most of her life in Jacksonville, Mrs. Stewart was born in Waycross, Georgia July 1, 1938 to Doyace and Marie (Smith) Stone.

She graduated from Andrew Jackson Senior High School in 1958. She immediately went to work at Southern Bell Telephone/AT & T (1957-1989) retiring after 32 years of service. She was a member of Southern Bell Pioneers. She married Robert Morris Stewart on January 7, 1961. She was a member of West Park Baptist Church where she faithfully served, sang with the children in Children's church, and sang special songs when she was asked. She loved hymns of faith, fishing and old western movies.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Cathryn Dennison and Sylvia Cartrette, and her son, Julius Stewart. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Stewart, her two brothers, John (Carolyn) Stone and DC (Linda) Stone, daughters, Nancy (Rick) Pritchard, Annette (Ira) Bowen, grandchildren, Ricky (Kristen) Pritchard, Josh (Brittney Pritchard, Kyle Pritchard, Krystina (Nick) Letterman, Hailey Bowen, Rebecca Bowen, Cathryn (Dallas) Gonzalez, Deborah Ring, Georgia (Mikey) Price, Tricia Stewart, Melody Stewart, Tanner Stewart, and Jacob Stewart. Six great grandchildren, special friends, Michelle, Jacob, and Joshua Musgrove along with a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive guests at West Park Baptist Church, 372 Jones Road, Jacksonville, FL from 6 - 8 PM on Monday, May 23, 2022. Funeral will be at West Park Baptist at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 with Rev. Charlie Rhodaback and Rev. Jeff Ray; graveside service to follow at Riverside Memorial P)ark Cemetery, 1437 Memorial Park Rd., Jacksonville, FL at 1:00 PM
