Bledsoe, Edward A., 85, went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2018. Born in Osceola, MO, he lived in Jacksonville for 65 years. He retired from W. W. Gay Mechanical Contractors as a commercial plumber and was a lifetime member of Local 234 Plumbers and Pipe-fitters Union. He also served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Mayfair Baptist and San Jose Baptist Church. He was currently a member of Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and riding motorcycles with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lillian Bledsoe; and four children, John (Angela) Bledsoe, David (Terri) Bledsoe, Susan Phillips, Linda (Dale) Harper; sisters, Susan (Gene) Brockus and Jean Dieker; 10 grandchildren, Amber and Johnathon Bledsoe, John (Briana) Bledsoe, Grant (Carly) Bledsoe, and Cody (Kayla) Bledsoe, Jessica Phillips, Rae Phillips, and Oliver Sapp, Lindsey Harper and Peyton Harper; and great-grandchildren, Miley Bledsoe, Lydia Bledsoe and Jacob Bledsoe.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32218
