Eileen Catherine Kosoy

Eileen Catherine (Barkasy) Kosoy, age 70, passed into the hands of our Lord on May 20 surrounded by her loving family at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Born in Trenton, NJ to the late Steven and Florence T. (Rogalny) Barkasy, Eileen was a resident of Jacksonville, Fla. for more than 30 years. She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 49 years, Robert, their son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Erin Kosoy of Tampa, and two beautiful grandchildren, Patrick and Caroline Kosoy. Eileen was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Barkasy.

Eileen used her exceptional organizational skills throughout her career in administrative and office management roles at the Naval Air Propulsion Center (Trenton, NJ), Notre Dame High School (Lawrence Township, NJ) and The College of New Jersey. Prior to her retirement, she spent more than 13 years in administrative roles at Episcopal School of Jacksonville.

A devout Catholic, Eileen graduated from Cathedral High School and was an active member of Holy Cross Church (now Divine Mercy) in Trenton, NJ. She was also an active member of her church communities at Holy Spirit, Holy Family and San Jose Catholic in Jacksonville, FL, diligently serving as Altar Server Coordinator at both Holy Spirit and Holy Family churches. Recently, she served as a lector at San Jose Catholic.

A wake service will be held Friday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. and a funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 25 at 12:00 p.m., both at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32217. In memory of Eileen, donations may be made to San Jose Catholic Church and/or the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.
