Eleanor Loretta DiVittorio
5 agosto , 1948 – 28 noviembre , 2019
Eleanor Loretta DiVittorio, 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 28, 2019, leaving her earthly home of Jacksonville, FL for her eternal home in Heaven.
Ellen worked in multiple industries throughout her life, holding various positions in office management.
Ellen was born in Brooklyn, NY and as a child, lived in Loudonville, NY and Garden City, NY. Ellen was raised in a home with 2 loving sisters, Pat and Beth, and adoring parents Tom and Fran. While living in Garden City, Ellen attended Catholic school at Sacred Heart Academy. During her high school years, mom was introduced to the love of her life, John DiVittorio (“Johnny”). They had a fairytale wedding and began their life together after Johnny returned home from Vietnam where he served our country bravely in the Marine Corps. Soon after getting married, Ellen and Johnny welcomed their greatest blessing, John, into the world. Ellen was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Ellen and her family moved often...living in New York, North Carolina, New York, Florida, New York and finally Florida (again). Ellen loved the beach, especially spending time in East Hampton, NY and in her younger years enjoyed disco dancing. She was a true “Dancing Queen”! Ellen was an incredibly talented artist and loved to paint. She blessed her family in recent years with beautiful artwork that will be cherished for years to come. Ellen gave her life to the Lord at a young age. She was a devoted follower of Christ and diligent student of the Bible. She participated in a multitude of bible studies throughout her life, was actively involved in each church she attended, and served in prison ministries with Johnny for many years. Her heart’s calling was to share the love of the Lord Jesus Christ with others so that they too might give their lives to Him and spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
Ellen will be honored and remembered in a memorial service on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin located at 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223. There will be a viewing for family and friends from 5:00-6:00 pm with a memorial ceremony, lead by Pastor Eric Souza of Reach Jacksonville, to follow at 6:00 pm. We invite everyone to stay after the ceremony for a reception and fellowship as we share our special memories of mom with one another.
