Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Wheeler

WHEELER- Beloved mother and devoted wife, ELIZABETH “Betty” ANN WHEELER, (81) went to be with our Lord in heaven on Wednesday, May 1st. Born on July 15, 1931 to Michael and Teresa Hartwick of Hudson, Ohio, she was the eldest of 3 siblings; a sister Jeanne and a brother William. After graduating from Kent State University, she married her high school sweetheart, Fred. They celebrated 58 beautiful years of marriage and had (8) children, Michael Wheeler (Sabrina), Ann Fewell (Mark), Douglas Wheeler (Debra), Patricia Holland (Mike), Daniel Wheeler(deceased), Jennifer Oliver (Edward), Joseph Wheeler (Filiz), and Thomas Wheeler (Linda), (20) grandchildren, and (11) great -grandchildren. She was also blessed with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.Because of the love she had for children, she taught elementary school for 21 years, lovingly affecting many young lives. She dedicated her entire life to God, family, and friends. Although her hobby was a thriving garden, her passion was a family that flourished from her nurturing guidance. A Vigil will be held on Monday, May 6th, 6:00-8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church 742 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL.Funeral mass will be on Tuesday, May 7th at 11:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The St. Vincent de Paul Society of CTK. Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. assisting the family.
