

Elizabeth was born March 16, 1935 in Calhoun Falls, SC. She was the only child of William Mack Campbell and Margaret Richey Campbell, both deceased. She is survived by her daughter Kelly R. Hogan and her two special grandchildren, Corey (Kathy) Bell and Sarah Bell, She was predeceased by her husband, George S. Corey, Jr. and her daughter, Shelly L. Theis.
Liz and her parents moved to Jacksonville in 1942. She attended local grammar schools and graduated from Landon High School in 1953. She worked in numerous banks throughout Jacksonville and the beaches for many years. She then worked for the Duval County Health Department and became the Chief Deputy Registar of Vital Statistics until she retired in 1983. Finally, she her joined her husband, George, working at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home until they both retired in 1998.
Liz’s passion for supporting everyone in her community is reflected by the numerous charity and service organizations where she served. In 1974 she became the first woman admitted membership in a Civitan Club in the Jacksonville area. She spent many years supporting Civitan International by holding numerous local, state and international offices and helping form countless new clubs. Liz and George were the first husband and wife team to be named Master Club Builders in all of Civitan International. In 1993, with her husband George, she was chosen to receive the 12 Who Care Community Service Award. In 2008, they established the George & Elizabeth Corey Endowment in support of the Duval County 4H Foundation.
Friends are asked to join the family in remembering and celebrating Elizabeth’s life at a visitation from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
