Elizabeth May Weaver (Liz) went to her new life on Monday, December 1, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Riverside Avenue Christian Church, 2841 Riverside Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32205 on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. She is our precious daughter and the much loved sister of Jay (Alicia), Jenny (Shannon), Scott, Margie (Rob) and Linda. Liz was cared for and loved by her special friend, Richard, and we know she brought great joy to his life too. Ben and Dianne adopted this wonderful spirit at birth and have been lucky to have her with us for 29 years. Liz was born with so many challenges due to brain injury before her birth. Ben and I often wondered why she was given so much to overcome and we watched her courage to help us have strength. She was the sweetest human we have ever known and had the innocent trust of a child. Ben and I and our children are better people for having shared this world with Elizabeth. We know she is happy now and free of all her burdens. We are so very, very sad to not have her on this earth with us but know she is smiling down on us and again reassuring us she didn't eat the cookies. We can still see our PID with chocolate cookie crumbs all over her mouth and the innocent face behind the cookie crumbs. Many survivors of brain injury suffer from cognitive and behavioral problems long after they come home. We are forming a special fund to give these survivors access to this specific treatment to allow them to successfully interact with family, friends and others. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Brain Injury Association of America. Donations may be made online at www.biausa.org or mailed to 1608 Spring Hill Road, Suite 110, Vienna, VA 22182. Please note “in memory of Elizabeth Weaver” on your donation and it will go to a special fund to accomplish helping other survivors. Love from Liz to all who cared for her and about her these 29 years.
