Eugenia “Ewo” Rossignol Tucker, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Ewo was born on September 5, 1931, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Joseph and Ethel Rossignol. She was raised in Atlanta before moving to Dallas, Texas, during her high school years. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in Dallas and went on to attend the University of Florida, where she graduated in 1955.
While at the University of Florida, Ewo met the love of her life, John Andrew Tucker III. The two married and shared 69 devoted years of marriage before John’s passing in December 2022. Together, they built a beautiful family and a life centered on faith, service, and unconditional love.
Ewo was the cherished mother of seven children: Angel (Rufus) Dowell, John (Julie) Tucker, Nancy Southerland, Chris Wilkerson, Clay (Colleen) Tucker, Lee Tucker and Jill Saig. She was lovingly known as “Nana” to her 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
A devout Catholic and a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ewo dedicated many years to serving others through St. Vincent de Paul Society, Meals on Wheels, and various downtown soup kitchens. Her life was a testament to compassion, humility, and a heart for those in need.
Ewo also enjoyed many years of social and competitive women’s tennis, playing in leagues at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and San Jose Country Club. She will be lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit, kindness to everyone she met, and her deep gratitude for the wonderful neighbors and friends in San Marco, whose support and companionship meant so much to her.
She cherished every visit and phone call with her children, grandchildren, and friends, and her warmth and grace touched all who knew her.
. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Sebastian Musa officiating. All friends are welcome to join the family for a gathering at San Jose Country Club following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Aging With Dignity, https://agingwithdignity.org/donate/ or other charity of your choice in honor of “Eugenia Tucker.”
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Community Hospice, Father Sebastian, Lena Bell, and all who provided compassionate care and support during her final days.
