
Florence Clark Daniels, 94, of Jacksonville Florida passed away on December 17, 2015 at Earl B. Hadlow Center. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00AM December 30, 2015 at San Jose Catholic Church, Father Gregory Fay officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Florence was born in Loretto Tennessee on November 5, 1921 to Albert Bernard Hollander and Frances Catherine Clark. From infancy she was raised in Birmingham, Alabama by her aunt and uncle, John and Beulah Clark. Florence graduated from St. Paul High School in Birmingham where she sang as a soloist and member of the choir. During her school years, Florence also sang on the local radio station in Birmingham, Alabama. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing the piano and organ and studied with Keyboard Connections in Jacksonville, Florida. Florence was married to C/SM (Ret) Charles Edwin Daniels on September 17, 1939. They were married 67 years. Florence worked as an accountant for various companies and organizations in different cities and military posts where her husband was stationed during his 25 years of service in the United States Army.
Florence is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Daniels; sons, Stephen C. Daniels, Guy E. Daniels, John P. Daniels; daughter, Ruth Ann Daniels Gutman; and daughter-in-law, Shay Howell Daniels (Douglas); as well as three brothers, John Clark , Eugene and William Hollander; and three sisters, Evelyn Clark, Frances and Jewel Hollander.
Florence is survived by her son, Charles H. Daniels, Jacksonville Beach; daughter, Leslie L. Daniels, Ph.D. Jacksonville; son, Douglas L. Daniels, Houston, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Daniels (Guy); 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
