She was born on August 27th, 1933, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Isser and Rae Price.
Florence led an active social life with family and friends. She had a successful career in real estate and was an accomplished bridge player.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Stanley, her brothers Jack and Sam, her son-in-law Walter Klages and her husband Gerald Schemer.
In addition to Stanley, she was the beloved mother or Ilene (Walter Klages) of Tampa, and Roy (Wendy) of Enterprise, FL; stepmother to Lauren Ruddick (Art) of Ormond Beach, grandmother of Scott of Atlanta, Jake of Hudson, FL, Luke of Austin, TX, and Liza (Zach Elkwood) of Long Island City, NY; sister Eunice (Barry Zisser) of Jacksonville, FL; great grandmother to Anastasia Klages and Rosalie Elkwood.
Contributions in memory of Florence Schemer may be directed to the Isser and Rae Price Library of Judaica at the University of Florida or the Jacksonville Jewish Center.
A graveside service for Florence will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
