

Floyd Bodie Brown, 85, of Saint Augustine, Florida went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Baptist South Hospital with his loving wife of 60 years and family by his side. Floyd graduated from University of Central Arkansas with a B.S. in Business, and he also proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked over 30 years in the insurance industry holding multiple positions during that time. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, attending grandchildren’s sporting events, worshiping at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, fishing, and eating sweets.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel and Estella Brown; brother, L.C. Brown and wife, Anna Grace; and brother, John Brown and wife, Charlsie. He is survived by his wife, Julia Ann Brown; daughter, Marsha Mackey; daughter, Karen McKay and husband, Bo. Floyd was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Monica Lewis and fiancé, James Brooks; Melissa Lewis; Noah Mackey and fiancée, Rachael; Max McKay and wife, Abigail; and Jake McKay and fiancée, Julia. His 7 precious great-grandchildren: Daeaun, Kaliyah, Kinzley, Boston, Cyrus, Titus, and Silas were all a source of great joy in his life. There are numerous nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.
The funeral will be held at Fruit Cove Baptist Church and officiated by Pastor Charles Ragland on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with a service following at 10:30 a.m. There is a private burial at Oaklawn Cemetery officiated by Pastor Eric Souza. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association or Fruit Cove Baptist Church.
