WALKER: Master Chief Francis "Vincent" Walker, at age 83, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Vincent was born on December 18, 1931 in Jacksonville, Florida to Robert Lee Walker, and Sue Thelma Jackson. In 1952, he joined the United States Coast Guard, while studying at University of Florida (Go Gators). He served over 42 years, during which he retired three times. After retiring from the Coast Guard, he worked at Curry Thomas as a gun smith. He was an avid hunter, Safari Club member, who hunted home and abroad.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Jean Walker; son, Vincent Lee Walker; daughters, Debbie Bonafede, Susan Walker; and grandchildren, Patricia Walker, Diana Bonafede, and Anthony Mariotti; other family and many friends. He leaves behind a legacy of unending memories, a wealth of knowledge and of course, a little stubbornness.
A Memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, February 27th at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida with Father Bill Foss, officiating.
