December 26th. He passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and sons.
Frank was born to Frank B. and Blanche H. Thompson August 23, 1925 in Jacksonville.
After graduating as Class President from Andrew Jackson High School, he served in the Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor where he flew supplies throughout the Pacific theater
During WW II.
After the war he married the love of his life, Betty Wooten. He then graduated from
Stetson University, and after seminary at Emory University he began a long career as a
Minister for the United Methodist Church. Frank lived a life of passion serving God as
Pastor of several United Methodist Churches in Jacksonville and Tampa. Frank was a
man of deep faith and integrity. He provided an example of how to live a life of honor to
his children, grandchildren and friends.
Frank is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty, his four sons, frank III (Laura), Walter (Amy), Mark (Debbie), Todd (Susan), seven grandchildren and his sister Monica Hester.
A Private internment service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery.
