

She was born in 1929 in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine where she lived with her parents John and Edith Crockett, and her sister Marion. After graduating from high school and business school, she met her husband Jack Howalt, and they were married in 1950. They moved to Jacksonville in 1953 and had 3 sons; Jerry Howalt (Lillian) of San Antonio, TX, Gary Howalt (Gail) of Jacksonville, FL, and Terry Howalt (Lyra) of Eclectic, AL. They have 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grand children, and many nieces, nephews, and special dear friends.
She was a long-time member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Jacksonville and loved being at the beach. She collected sharks teeth and could spend hours on the beach adding to her collection. She loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. She and Jack loved to travel and spent many summers in Maine with her sister Marion and her family.
Her family will miss her warm smile.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 11th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Father Mark Atkinson as Officiant.
