

Like a shooting star against the night sky, Geneva Sparkman Andreu, age 79, of Atlanta, Georgia went to heaven during the night of May 11, 2016. Geneva was born in Manatee, Florida on August 27, 1936. Geneva graduated from Newberry High School, in Newberry, Florida in 1955. She was married to John William Andreu, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida on June 14, 1958. Geneva held positions in banking throughout her career and retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in 1998. She was a member of the Alpharetta, Georgia United Methodist Church Senior Choir until 2010 and served on various committees in the church. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano, singing and composing. She also enjoyed gardening. Geneva was a devoted wife to John Andreu for 38 years, also deceased.
She is survived by her only child, Cindy Marie Andreu; Phyllis R. Hoogeveen, sister; Marguerite J. Andreu, sister-in-law; Ann B. Andreu, sister-in-law; Patrick C. Andreu, brother-in-law; and various nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and well-wishers from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, in Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 16, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Oaklawn Chapel, followed by committal in Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Cemetery.
