

George is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Dolores Allen, who he enjoyed a blissful marriage lasting 52 years; his beloved children, Joseph Baneth Allen and Selma Victoria Franz; beloved son-in-law Christopher Franz; his devoted grandchildren Jeff, Zack, and Ashley and herhusband Kevin, who he held close to his heart; and his great-grandchildren Addison and Markaylynn.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Wade B. Allen and Florence Victoria Allen; his sisters, Vicki, Marie, and Mary-Ann; and his brother Wade B. Allen, Jr.
George's passion for military service spanned 35 years - 30of which were spent in the United States Marine Corps. Not a day went by that he did not live by the Marine Motto. He did three tours of duty in Viet Nam; was present and injured during the terrorist attack at the Beirut International Airport; and served in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm. In his spare time, George earned his certification as a gemologist; and was an amateur archeologist. He also enjoyed going to the ruby mines in Franklin, North Carolina, fishing, and going out on family outings.
A Graveside Service will be held at1:30p.m.on Monday,November 25, 2013inJacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218 with full military honors.
