

Gerald O. LeSiege, age 90, passed away on June 8, 2019 at Community Hospice Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville with family by his side. He was born October 25, 1928 in Allentown, PA the son of the late Oscar and Caroline LeSiege. Gerald served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked as an Air Traffic Controller before retiring in 1981.
Gerald was a dedicated husband and father who loved doing woodwork and playing tennis. He met his wife Joyce in Miami where they got married and lived for two years before moving to Boston. They later moved to Jacksonville, Florida and their love for travel has brought them to many places including Egypt and Saudi Arabia. While caring for his wife who had dementia, Gerald built an elaborate five-foot tall cathedral which he personalized and dedicated to his wife. The cathedral now belongs to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Orlando, FL.
Gerald will be remembered as a fighter and will forever live on in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Joyce A. LeSiege. He is survived by his children: sons, Gary (MariLou) LeSiege and Les (Shaleen) LeSiege; daughters, Lynanne (Joel) Bise and Jill (Bryant) Thigpen; grandchildren, Ian, Cameron, Brent and Dylan LeSiege, Noah Bise and Jillian Thigpen; brother, Corby LeSiege.
He will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218. Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Hospice Hadlow Center for Caring, 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257.
