

Gloria S. Nunn, age 92, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on December 16, 2025. A lifelong Jacksonville resident, Gloria devoted her life to her family and to a wide range of volunteer and civic organizations that enriched her community.
Her leadership and service included serving as President of the Garden Club of Jacksonville and the Pyracantha Circle, President of the Florida Medical Association Auxiliary, President of the Guild of the Jacksonville Symphony, and as a board member of both the Jacksonville chapter of the American Cancer Society and the Jacksonville Symphony Association. Gloria was an active member of Ortega United Methodist Church. Her charitable work also extended to the Heart Guild, St. Luke’s Hospital, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, the English-Speaking Union, and The Bolles School.
Gloria shared more than sixty years of marriage with her beloved husband, Dr. Daniel B. Nunn. Together, they enjoyed a full and adventurous life, marked by extensive travel and temporary residences in Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina, and Washington, D.C., before returning home to Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan; her parents, Millard F. Smith and Myra Lee Smith; and her daughter, Myra Elizabeth Nunn. She is survived by her sons, Daniel B. Nunn, Jr. and Andrew Smith Nunn, both of Jacksonville; her grandchildren, Glory Scheel, Hunter Rhyne, D. Andrew Nunn, Matthew Nunn, Joshua Nunn, Ross L. Nunn, and Jeff Nunn; and her great-grandchildren, Luke Andrew Nunn and Chandler Lee Nunn.
A memorial service will be held at Ortega United Methodist Church on January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
A life lived beautifully leaves a lasting light, and Gloria’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her.
