

Grace L. James, 81, went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Now she is rejoined with her husband, Thomas James after 62 years of marriage, and her daughter, Linda. Grace was born on November 16, 1928 in Charlotte, NC. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Vorwald, and Sharon Tedder (Hank); Grace was affectionately called “Honey” by her grandchildren, Stacy Placzkowski, Chris Jowers and great-grandchildren, Brandon Suggs and Kaylee Placzkowski. She was also known as “Linkie” by her sister, Bliss Barkley; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Grace enjoyed making crafts, canning food, listening to her husband playing his guitar and singing, and sharing time with her family and friends. The family visitation to greet friends will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Hardage-Giddens Main Street Funeral Home, 4315 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, 11:00am, August 16, 2010 in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Main Street Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hadden and Rev. Willie Crews officiating. Funeral Service will conclude at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte, North Carolina at a later date.
