

GOFF-Hardin "Ted" A. passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011. Born June 12, 1918 in Sherman, Texas. He retired from Southern Bell in March 1978 after 41 years of service as Staff Manager-North Florida Area. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was very active in his church, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Jacksonville. He was involved as board member, lay leader, Sunday school teacher and choir member for over 50 years, as well as many other duties. This dedication continued with offices on the District, State and National levels including Layman of the Year-1993. Ted also served in the Masonic Order including Worshipful Master of Albert J. Russell Lodge No. 126 F&AM, Jacksonville, member of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry (50 year member), coroneted a Thirty Third Degree Inspector General Honorary among many other positions. Mr. Goff was also involved in community affairs as Past President, Arlington Civic Association and member, Board of Directors, Boys Home Association. Preceded in death by his wife, Angela (Schiffer) and daughter, Karen Daniel. Survived by son-in-law, James Daniel; two nephews, Dr. James P. Fields and Edwin L. Goff, Jr.; one niece, Nancy Garza and other extended family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14 in St. Paul United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with Masonic Services. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday, July 13 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. In lieu of flowers it was Ted's request memorials be given to: Florida United Methodist Children's Home in Enterprise, FL or Boy's Home Association Inc., Jacksonville or The Scottish Rite Foundation of Florida in Tampa.
