
Harold Russell "Russ" Alexander Jr., age 56, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Harold was born October 14, 1965 at Bunker Hill Airforce Base (now Grissom Air Reserve Base), Indiana. He was the Son of Harold Russell Alexander Sr and Patricia Ann (Harris) Valz.
He was a 1983 graduate of Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, FL, Russ lettered in soccer and upon graduation attended Florida State University where he was a brother in the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Returning to Jacksonville Russ started his first career in the hospitality industry working several entry level and director positions at various country clubs while recording the much-needed experience the industry requires, all along mixing in his love for the game of golf. Russ parlayed this work experience and his love of golf into the opportunity to relocate to Pinehurst, NC where he worked for the Pinehurst Resort as Assistant Food & Beverage Director. Having many years of success; this led to a transfer to the private club division as Club Manager at McAllen Country Club in McAllen, TX. Culminating his food & beverage career, Russ moved back to Jacksonville in the early 2000's as a part of the Food & Beverage team task with opening the Adams Mark Hotel on Jacksonville's Northbank. Throughout his life Russ was an avid golfer and played as much as he could until sidelined by recent health issues. He was a lover of all sports and moved his talents to playing cards and dealing poker. At the time of his death, he was employed by Best Bet of Orange Park as a dealer.
Surviving immediate family, his Mother Patricia Ann Valz and her husband Randolph "Terry" Mills Valz III, St Simons Island, GA; Brother Scott Edward Middleton and his spouse Jennifer Ann Mullis, Jacksonville, FL; Grandmother Hilda Cain Stalls, Jacksonville, FL; Aunt Katherine Rose Stalls, Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by his Father Harold Russell Alexander Sr. (1999) and Grandfather Henry Alfred Stalls Jr (2014) Other family includes: Brother Jared F. Alexander, Kokomo, IN; Sisters Shelly B. Kennedy, Otterbein, IN; Heather K. Alexander and Hillary M. Alexander, both of Kokomo, IN
