

Henry “Hank” Clay Bland, 50, lifelong resident of Jacksonville, passed away February 22, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Alma, Georgia and moved to Jacksonville as an infant. Hank was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Hank loved his family’s many hunting dogs especially his favorite Raggedy Ann. The north Florida and south Georgia woods lost a native son, but the pastures of Heaven gained a valiant and noble woodsman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Qunith L. Bland, a sister, Marsha Ann Hennigar, and a nephew, Christopher Dereck Bland. Surviving are his mother, Afton Bland, three sisters, Pamela Hyatt, Judy (Alan) Jones, Karen Bland (Dale) Kissick, two brothers, Joe Dereck Bland, Thomas Garth Bland, 7 nephews, one niece and many dear friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27 from 6-8 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
