Henry Thomas Rawls was born in Montgomery County, Georgia on June 30, 1955 to the late Willie T. Rawls and the late Lizzie Mae Gillis. He joined the U.S. Army as an Infantryman serving for five years stationed in Hawaii and Korea and earning the rank of SGT before completing his term of service in October 1977. Following his military service he worked for the Duval County School board for over 24 years retiring in 2014. He departed this life on September 3, 2020 at St. Catherine rehabilitation center in Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by three brothers Arthur James, Billy, and Bobby.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 35 years: Deborah Rawls of Jacksonville, FL; his only child loving and devoted daughter Camilla Rawls; two step sons: Mr. Frank (Bernadette) Brown and Antoine (Victoria) Brown; brother: Thomas (Annette) Rawls of Vidalia, GA; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
