Irwin “Bud” Goldberg died on October 1, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born and educated in Brooklyn, New York. At 17 he joined the US Air Force serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre in WWII. His many awards included the Purple Heart. He lived in Los Angeles before moving to Jacksonville to marry Patricia Schwartz, who survives him. He became active in the insurance industry, a financial and business consultant, retiring in 2003. He served on many boards within the community.
Survivors are his wife, Pat; daughter, Julie and Tommy Averette; son, Jeff & Belinda Goldberg; five grandchildren, Jason & Danielle Averette and Travis, Timothy & Tyler Goldberg; his brother, Fred, in New York.
Services will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:00am in King David Gardens, within Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
