Jack Byron Flynn passed peacefully on May 6, 2025 at the age of 87 in St. Augustine, FL from complication of advanced diabetes. A Florida native, he spent most of his life in Jacksonville, FL and was always a guy that never met a stranger. Jack graduated from Dupont High School in the first graduating class in 1955. He married his high school sweetheart, Inez, and they spent 68 years together.
Jack spent his working life mostly in computers, first with Prudential as a programmer and then with Honeywell/Bull Information and Printing Systems in marketing until he retired.
He was always “Mr Fix-it”, a “Jack” of all trades and the guy on the block to gladly lend a hand whenever needed. And, when he shed his suit and tie, you’d find him literally adding a room to his house, tending his beautiful gardens, or with a cane pole catching fish for his opportunist resident great blue heron.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Alma Flynn, and his brother Stanley Flynn, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Inez, and his children Pam Flynn, Karen (Jim) Foster and Susan (Larry) Geiger, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel on San Jose Blvd in Jacksonville on May 19. Visitation will be from 10:00 am-11:00 am, then a casual service afterward from 11:00 am -12:00 pm.
