Jim passed away at the Greenhouse of Bartram Lakes in Jacksonville Florida, leaving so many memories of an extraordinary life well lived.
Born May 8th 1926 in Blairsville, Pennsylvania , Jim interrupted his high school graduation (Class of 1944) to early enlist in the US Navy Submarine Force in 1943. His boat the Sea Owl patrolled the South Pacific waters until the end of the War. Unexpectedly Jim was again called to service by the Navy in 1950 to campaigns during the Korean War. Upon discharge Jim moved the family to Daytona Beach Florida .
Blessed with a booming voice, winning smile, sunny disposition and a remarkable gift of gab, Jim was a natural salesman and was discovered by State Farm Insurance Company and began a very successful career as a State Farm Agent in Daytona Beach and later Port Orange Florida retiring in 1995.
Jim's was married to the love of his life Ida for sixty nine years . Together they raised four children and traveled the world . Both also enjoyed a mountain home in Boone, North Carolina.
Jim lived life to the fullest even after tragically losing three children. Daughters Cindy Smith and Kathy Campbell and son Jimmy Campbell predeceased their father. A lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, Jim's faith is his best
legacy.
Jim is survived by daughter and long time caregiver Debbie Ebersberger and her husband Bob Ebersberger of St Johns Florida.
He is also survived by three grandchildren , Alisa Wright of Sarasota Florida , Brad Ebersberger of Jacksonville Beach and Ryan Ebersberger of Ashland Oregon. Jim also leaves seven special great grand children.
A service will be held at Geneva Presbyterian Church, 1755 State Rd 13, Jacksonville, FL 32259, on Saturday February 19th, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. with a reception after the service.
