
James Clyde “IKE” Isenhower of Jacksonville passed away April 16, 2008 in Ashland, Va. and was born May 20, 1914 in Fairfield County, South Carolina. He is survived by his wife Frances Yancey S. Isenhower, a daughter, Mrs. Geralene Cooke (husband Heywood Cooke); a grandson, Michael S. Cooke of South Carolina and his daughter, Meagan and her children; a granddaughter Mrs. Kam Turner, (husband Chris) and their children, Christopher, Krandal and Claire of Clemson, South Carolina: stepson, Fred W. Smith (wife Marie deceased); step-granddaughter Mrs. Dana Blickley (husband Brian) and their children Jessica and Jerod of Titusville, Florida: step-grandson Jay C. Smith (wife Donna) and their daughter, Courtney of Merritt Island, Florida; his deceased half brothers wife Mrs. Garnet (Mary) Jenkins of Columbia, South Carolina and her children and grandchildren; a number of cousins and a host of friends.Mr. Isenhower lived in Jacksonville from 1945 to 2007, and was a member of the East 44th Street Baptist Church; a 50 year member of the Woodmen of the World; a member of Riverside Lodge No. 266, AF&AM; a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and a life member of Morocco Temple of the Shrine; Past Patron of Brentwood Chapter #183 Order of the Eastern Star; Past Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls and a recipient of the Grand Cross of Color; Past W.O.S of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and a life member of the American Philatelic Society.Mr. Isenhower was a licensed General Contractor until his retirement and did extensive estimating and Horizontal Construction in Duval County, and North East Florida from 1948 until his retirement in 1982.A Funeral Service was held in Mechanicsville, Virginia on Saturday, April 19, 2008 and a Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Evergreen Cemetery,(Gate #6) 4535 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida. Corey Kerlin Funeral home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, Jacksonville Florida 32208 will coordinate interment.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mt.
