He was employed by Detroit Diesel and retired after 45 years. He was a member of the Lions Club, The Shriners and Moose Lodge.
Bill is survived by his sons; James B. Leggett, Jr., Michael David Leggett and Terry Allen Leggett; grandsons, Stephen James Leggett and Reese Leggett; great-grandson, Tristan James Leggett.
A visitation for James will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10:00 am inside the Chapel of Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur at 11:00 am in the Chapel with Pastor Jay Stuckey, Officiating. A committal service will take place immediately following the service in Greenlawn Cemetery.
