

Jeffrey "Coach Bucky" Weinert, 50, passed away on March 3, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL. Jeff was a graduate of N.B. Forrest High School, licensed land surveyor and owner of Weinert Surveying & Mapping, Inc. His passions in life were his family, cooking, coaching and mentoring numerous young people and Elvis Presley. Over the years he coached baseball at SJAA and football at MAA, BYAA, PCPW and SFC, as well as serving as a committee member for the Pop Warner Junior Jaguars Bowl and a booster for DuPont MS Athletics, Wolfson Quarterback Club, Wolfson AJROTC, and his daughter's cheer squads at BYAA and PCPW. Jeff is preceded in death by his mother, M. Annette (Armstrong) Swearingen; father, Hans U. Weinert and mother-in-law, Ethel (Bennett) Gower. He is survived by his wife of over 25 years, Carrie (Gower) Weinert; children, Derrick, Tyler and Kaethe; brothers, Roderick Weinert, Sr., and Gregory Weinert; father-in-law, John Gower; brother-in-law David Gower (Jennifer); aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; special friends, Harry and Tracy Albright, Richard and Kerri Dunnington, James and Shandra Patrick, their children and grandchildren whom he considered his own, and the young people Jeff coached and supported over the years. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Greater Jacksonville Pop Warner (GJPWFC) Scholastics, 1193 Knoll Dr. Jacksonville, FL 32221. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral of Mandarin with Frank Ciresi as Officiant.
