
HAMONTREE: Jennie Cambria Hamontree was welcomed to life at her parents’ home in Jacksonville, FL on April 24, 1925 and departed this life at her home in Starke, Florida on April 19, 2013 in the company of her children. She was a graduate of Lee High School and a retiree of the City of Jacksonville, having worked as Council Secretary. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Harold Hamontree; her parents Felice and Maria Cambria; five sisters, Teresa Pizzo Cimigna, Catherine DePasquale, Angelina Tracy, Mary Mullis, and Carmelina Bell. She is survived by her brother-in-law, John H. Bell; six children, Frances Sullivan (Marshall), Mary Jo Mickler (Bryant), Al Mize (Debbie), Mack Mize (Debbie), Richard Mize, and Louise Nettles (Mike); one step-daughter, Ann Clifton; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; dearly loved nieces and nephews who loved her in turn; and many more loved ones who affectionately call her “grandma”. She loved God, family and country and knew that all things in her life were “by the grace of God”. Her family’s love and admiration for her “lives on”, and we know that she “lives on” in her heavenly home with Christ Jesus (John 3:16). To God be the glory. A memorial service conducted by Rev. Barry Andrews and Dr. Jim Snell will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church, 4000 Spring Park Rd., Jacksonville. There will be a fellowship lunch after the service in the church fellowship hall. Graveside services will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday in Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Jennie’s favorite charities, Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc, P.O. Box 2000, Boys Ranch, FL 32064; Boys Town, P.O. Box 6000, Boys Town, NE 68010-9988; and City Rescue Mission, 426 S. McDuff Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32254. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Boulevard is serving the family.
