Jerrold Cohn of Jacksonville passed away from heart disease on March 20, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Leon and Diana Cohn. Jerry was a loved member of the community and a cherished husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from Landon High School and attended Jacksonville University. Following his graduation from JU, he joined the U.S. Air Force in what would be a long and honorable career of service. While in the military, Jerry received his graduate degree from Ball State. At the time of his retirement, Jerry had achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Cohn; their daughters Susan (Sean) Kelly and Sarah Cohn (Nash Roca); and grandchildren Leo and Isla Kelly.
His funeral will take place at 10:30 am at the New Jewish Center Cemetery, 43rd and Liberty Streets (Evergreen Cemetery) on Friday, March 22, 2024.
