Jimmie L. "Butch" Nelms,

NELMS—Jimmie L. “Butch” Nelms, Jr., 38, of Jacksonville passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 18, 2007. Butch, a Jacksonville native, graduated high school from Sonshine Academy in Callahan and was member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. He was employed as an engineering technician with K. S. Ware & Associates and was an avid Gator fan. Butch was predeceased by his mother, Charlotte Nelms, in 1998. Survivors include: his father and step-mother, Jimmie and Nancy Nelms; a brother, Lance (Rebecah) Nelms; nieces and nephews, Jasmine Leigh and Joshua Luke Nelms; a step-sister, Tami (Billy) Powers; a step-brother, Chris (Mandy) White; nieces and nephews, Jesse, Haylee, Mason White and McKinley Powers; as well as many other aunts, uncles, and other family members. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave. with Dr. Alan Brown and Rev. Bob Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday (TODAY) from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Butch’s memory to Celebrate Recovery Ministry at North Jacksonville Baptist Church.
