Joan Evans Coxwell

Joan Evans Coxwell, 73, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011. Mrs. Coxwell was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville and graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. Joan was an active member of Gardenview Baptist Church and also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Grady and Maude Peterson Evans and her sister, Beverly Evans Bacon. Survivors include her son, Mark Evan Coxwell; two daughters, Iris Joan Coxwell and Terri Jene Coxwell Blackshear; five grandsons, Lee Baldwin Blackshear, Jr., Thomas Evan Blackshear, Tyler Eugene Blackshear, Brandon Evan Coxwell and William Evan Quisenberry; a niece, Vicki Lynn Bacon and nephew, John Alan Bacon, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, April 14, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, with Rev. Rodney Keith officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday (Today) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Gardenview Baptist Church, 3139 N. Armsdale Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
