COLLIER.........John W. Collier, Jr., 80, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011. He was a kind, sweet, gentle spirit. John had a passion for photography and music. He loved his family, never spoke ill of anyone, and was always the peacemaker in the group. Mr. Collier is survived by his loving companion of 18 years, Mary Ann Smith; 4 daughters, Gloria Collier Beary (Jim), Dawn Collier, Sherry Harper (Wade) and Tina Grant (Thomas); 1 son, Ray K. Smith, Jr.; 2 sisters, Dorothy Jean Sparrow, and Patricia Lee Kyser (Joe); 8 grandchildren, Amanda, Walter, Michael, Morgan, Kris, Ash, Mary and Thomas; and 2 great grandchildren, Westley and Tina. The Funeral Service celebrating John's life will be held at Noon Monday,May 9,2011 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jax. FL 32211. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Mr. Collier will be buried at Jacksonville National Cemetery, with Military Honors.
